2D Mill Certification

Completion of the Mastercam 2D Mill certification shows mastery of the skills needed to effectively use Mastercam. Certified users will be able to explain and discuss the workflow for creating 2D toolpaths, understand the workflow of taking a model and creating NC code, articulate the difference between standard and dynamic toolpaths, and understand the creation of geometry in Mastercam.

3D Mill Certification

Completion of the Mastercam 3D Mill certification shows mastery of the skills needed to effectively use Mastercam. Certified users will be able to explain the workspace, geometry creation, and toolpath creation for Mastercam 3D Mill.

Multiaxis Certification

Completion of the Mastercam Multiaxis certification shows mastery of the skills needed to effectively use Mastercam. Earners will be able to accurately establish WCS and tool planes in a multiaxis environment, differentiate between multiaxis machine capabilities, demonstrate knowledge of 5-axis curve, swarf milling, flow, parallel, deburr, 3+2 automatic roughing, multisurface, project curve, and morph toolpaths, and implement 3+2 machining strategies and simultaneous 5-axis strategies.

Core Certification

Completion of the Mastercam Core certification shows mastery of necessary, foundational skills in programming with Mastercam. Earners will be able to understand and navigate the Mastercam user interface, set up parts for programming, manage planes, create geometry, explore toolpath parameters, program toolpaths, manage tools, simulate programs, and generate NC code.

How do I take a Mastercam training course?

Go to Mastercam University where you can find many free Mastercam training resources. Your Mastercam Reseller can help with additional training options, such as third-party training content and other training opportunities local to you.

If I fail the exam, can I retake it?

Yes. You can take each exam up to three times, with a one-week (7-day) waiting period between each attempt. Please be aware that you will be charged for each attempt.

How much does the exam cost?

The cost per attempt is $200. The current price for students is $100 per exam attempt.

How long does the exam take?

Each exam allows a maximum of 120 minutes.

What languages are the exams available in?

Currently, our online exams are offered in English only.
